Say what you will about most of his acting roles, but Ben Affleck is quite the director. First Gone Baby Gone, then The Town, and now comes his next directorial effort: Argo. Based on true events from 1979, Argo is a new dramatic thriller that chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes during the Iran hostage crisis—the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. In addition to Affleck, the cast also includes Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston and John Goodman. Based on the suspenseful trailer, it looks like Affleck may have another excellent film under his directorial belt. Look forward to checking it out in October!
The film is rated R and is scheduled for U.S. release on October 12.
As the Iranian revolution reaches a boiling point, a CIA ‘exfiltration’ specialist devises a dangerous plan to free six Americans who have found shelter at the home of the Canadian ambassador.
